Pairing: Baekseul[Seulgi and Baekhyun]
Concept: Idol!Au Inspiration: Little Things| One Direction [Completed] "You're going home tonight?" Jongdae asked as he put on his cap. Baekhyun looked up from his phone to see Jongdae taking his stuff to leave. He almost forgot they had some time off before continuing the promotions for CBX's new album and was mentally preparing himself to stay awake for another schedule. But it wasn't necessary this time. If he had the choice then of course he would. It wasn't a real question. "Yes, I think I'll go home," Baekhyun smiled. He checked the time and sighed at how late it was. After a few days of sleeping late and waking up early or not sleeping at all except in the car, he completely lost track of the time. What day it was or the exact date, he couldn't tell. All he knew was that he was dead tired and needed to rest as soon as possible. Baekhyun quickly gathered his stuff, more in a hurry to go home than he would admit and thanked the staff before heading out of the recording studio. He took small and quick steps to his reach his car and didn't wait a second to drive off as soon as he buckled down his seatbelt. Baekhyun turned on the radio to accompany his lonely ride back home and smiled a bit when his own album started playing. It was a small accomplishment but it always filled him with pride when the music he made with his members was appreciated like this. He made a mental note to tell her that later with another lame joke he would find to make her laugh. "They played my song on the radio, I think I'm getting famous," Baekhyun practiced. He shook his head, this one won't do. He could already imagine her scrunch her nose at him and hit his arm for trying to be funny. Baekhyun needed a better reaction to lift his tiredness. "Right now, CBX is the most successful rookie. I hope you're not too disappointed with getting the B out of the three." She would definitely call him out for his poor humour and the lazy rhyme with this one. "Whatever," Baekhyun chuckled at how silly he sounded. "She'll smile at anything anyways." He already knew she would relieve his stress and lack of sleep one way or another just by being there. He didn't have to be funny. Baekhyun knew he didn't have to try around her, he could be himself and it was fine. He parked into the dark parking lot of the apartment building and entered before making his way to the elevator right away without wasting time. Baekhyun checked his phone as he waited for the elevator only to see he had one missed call from Minseok and three text messages left unopened. "Missing me already?" he sarcastically laughed when he saw that two out of the three messages were from the members of his sub unit while the last one was a notification from EXO's group chat. "We spend countless hours together everyday and the moment I take a break to go home they harass me." He jokingly shook his head as he entered the elevator. The elevator seemed to go so slowly and everything looked twice as heavy in his hands, even his thin phone and his car's keys that couldn't weight more than a few grams. Baekhyun sighed after rubbing his eyes to stay awake. His body was sore and it took him every bit of willpower he had left to not just sit down in the elevator and rest there. "We're almost there," he cheered himself as he saw that he was one floor away from his apartment. Baekhyun quickly stepped out of the elevator and walked towards his place as he made a second mental note to stop talking to himself out loud. He reached his apartment's door in no time and unlocked it in a swift motion. He let his heavy duffel bag fall to the floor and took off his sneakers. Baekhyun silently closed the door behind him with a muffled sound before stepping further into the apartment. The lights were off and everything was completely silent except from the sound of his heavy footsteps. He didn't need to see to move around, he was at home. Baekhyun turned to his right and avoided a chair he could almost see from imagining it exactly in its right place in his mind and continued to walk to his bedroom. He slowly turned the knob in case it would make a loud screeching sound and let out a breath of relief when it didn't. Another one escaped his lips when his worries left him and he was comforted with the sight of a sleeping Seulgi buried under his sheets. She was breathing slowly and peacefully as if she had never been in a more comfortable bed. To him, it looked like the world had stopped moving just to make sure shewas safe and sound and without a single burden to trouble her sleep. The sight automatically calmed him and he unconsciously smiled. Baekhyun whispered a few inaudible words to himself with the same smile that wouldn't leave his lips before quietly walking towards the attached bathroom to get changed and wash up a bit. He came out of it a few minutes later with fresh rosy cheeks and his pajamas that consisted of a large t-shirt and sweatpants. He tried his best to not make too much noise or move around as he got on the bed next to Seulgi. Baekhyun pushed the sheets aside with the utmost delicacy and covered himself with them while still making sure to not steal from her side. He smiled to himself when he realized he finished without waking her up. Nevertheless, Seulgi eventually shifted on the bed and Baekhyun heard her mumble something he didn't catch. "You're there," she repeated with her face still half buried in the pillow. "Sorry, I didn't want to wake you up." "You didn't. I was waiting for you," Seulgi said as she turned to face him. She gave him a tired smile before moving closer to him. At the same time, Baekhyun opened his arms to let her come into his embrace because she didn't have to do anything else for him to know. Her head rested on his chest as he brought his face closer so he could take a bit of her warmth. "You should have slept," Baekhyun whispered, his lips now reaching for her face. He planted a soft kiss on her forehead and watched her squirm in his arms with a giggle. "I actually fell asleep while waiting for you." "Now that'snormal," he chuckled in her ear. Baekhyun's deep voice gave Seulgi shivers that made her blush. Truly, of all things she loved about him, his voice was always one of her favorites. She looked up to see that he already had his eyes closed and his chest was heaving up and down on a steady rhythm. She noticed his lips slightly trembled when he breathed out and that his hold on her waist only became tighter whenever she tried to move to the other side. "Are you tired?" Seulgi asked although she knew the obvious answer. She just wanted to hear his voice a bit more before they would separate again through short-lived dreams. "A bit," he lied. "And you?" Seulgi also loved how he never answered with a dry response no matter how tired he was. He wouldn't let the conversation die even if it meant talking to her for hours when he could barely lift his eyelids. "I'm fine," Seulgi said before breaking away from his embrace to caress his cheek. She shifted so she could reach his face and softly removed some strands of hair off his face. Baekhyun followed her movement by letting his head rest in the crook of her neck and inhaled her sweet and familiar scent. As usual, Seulgi was warm and cosy. He didn't try to sound poetic or anything but Baekhyun always thought Seulgi was a mix between a calm river and a field of sunflowers: refreshing, welcoming and beautiful, a scenery he would always go back to in the darkest hours. She felt like home. "It was hard," he finally said. "It's tiring but it's always worth it." Seulgi smiled before passing a hand through his hair. He didn't have to tell her for her to know what he was talking about. She had guessed the moment he called her twice between two recordings just to know how she was doing during the day. Baekhyun always had this strange habit of making sure the people he cared about were fine when he wasn't. He was vulnerable and never let it show but he somehow always opened to Seulgi without having her to say one thing. "Don't make yourself sick and take a break when you need it," she said in a reassuring way. "I love what I am doing Seulgi," Baekhyun whispered in her neck. "But I will do my best to not worry you." That too, she loved it. She loved how selfless he was and how he was ready to do anything for his fans. She loved how he felt she was worth of listening to his struggles and confided in her, how he found peace within her silence and comfort in her embrace. "Do you want to talk?" she asked him as she continued to hold him tight. "I'm fine." Seulgi felt his lips move up again the skin of her neck and guessed he was smiling. "I just wanted you to know." "As long as you're fine," she said as she watched his breathing slow down again. Seulgi gently kissed his cheek and watched him fall asleep. There were so many things she loved about this man and sometimes it was overwhelming but nothing could replace the feeling she felt right now. Being able to witness what others couldn't and share something that she knew she wouldn't find anywhere else but in his arms reminded Seulgi of the thing she loved the most about him: his love for her. More than anything, she loved how he loved her.
