Pairing: Seulkai[Seulgi and Jongin]
Concept: Idol!Au [Completed] She opened the door right away, as if she knew that he was coming over and had been waiting for him since then. Her chubby cheeks were tinted with a bright red color and her eyes started to shine when they landed on him. She smiled a bit and pushed herself aside to let him in. "Jongin," she whispered like she was out of breath. "What is it?" he asked calmly without really paying attention. She always had the habit of calling his name randomly for no reason. It wasn't like she really needed him for something, she just wanted his attention. He didn't give in and took off his coat before sitting down on one of the chairs of the dining room. She was looking at him from the door frame with a slight pout. It was so subtle that if you weren't Jongin, you would think that her lips had always been like this. But he's Jongin and he knows because he knows everything about her. She stood there silently until he unlocked his phone and started fiddling with it. She sighed when she understood that she wouldn't get anything from him and sat down next to him at the table. "You don't care about me?" she asked sadly while looking down at the table. What kind of nonsense is this about again? He thought while trying to not laugh because she was being so adorable. "You didn't answer me," he replied after making sure that no laugh was about to come out of his mouth. "Because I didn't have anything to say." I know. Seulgi was still looking down at the table but now, she was playing with the end of her shirt's sleeve. "What were you doing before I came?" he asked slowly, still fixing his gaze on her. She didn't answer. Jongin smiled. "Are you trying to get revenge?” Seulgi lifted her head and smiled. And then she giggled because he was looking at her. And they both started laughing because they were looking at each other. "What's wrong with you?" Jongin said with the hint of a smile. "I don't know what's wrong with me," Seulgi admitted. And she laughed again as her cheeks were becoming even more red. Jongin scanned Seulgi's appartment in half a second and he spotted right away what was wrong with her. Seulgi was drunk. A few cans were lying here and there in the kitchen right in front of them and he could see her lose balance even though she was already seated on a chair. It was common for her to lose balance on a perfectly stable chair so he hadn't suspected it at first even though the way she slurred her words and her flustered cheeks had been a big clue. What was uncommon was a drunk Seulgi. Tipsy would be the right word for her state but knowing the fact that she was usually K.O. after three cans of beer, she was more drunk in Jongin's eyes than anything. She wasn't the type to drink often and when she did, it was never a lot. She was too responsible to let herself get drunk when they could have a schedule the next day or simply because it wasn't worth it to look like an idiot because of her low tolerance. Jongin got closer and raised his eyebrow at her. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she was now hiding her face in her hands. " It's embarrassing." "You drank?" "No? Yes? What is the truth?" she laughed. "You tell me." "I think I did." She giggled like a kid who got caught for something bad but didn't understand the bad part of it. "Why?" he asked with a serious expression. "Why not? I mean, I'm an adult and I can drink since the law allows it," she answered with the same serious tone. "You're right, why wouldn't you drink in the middle of the week when you have a schedule tomorrow especially when you never do that?" "Are you being sarcastic? I can't tell." She squinted her eyes and he smiled. He let it at that, she was in no way capable of coming up with a proper answer. They stayed silent for a bit. Jongin was playing with his hands and Seulgi was attentively watching him, crouched on the table. "Jongin," she called. "What is it?" "Why do you come here so often?" she asked as she closed her eyes. She was getting tired. "Why? You don't like it?" "I don't like it," she concluded. He looked at her breathe slowly with her eyes still closed. Her chest was rising up and down and he could swear he had never seen her so peaceful. He stretched out his hand and took a strand of dark hair that he placed behind her ear, still looking at her with the same adoring gaze. "Then I won't come again." "But I would hate it if you stopped coming here." Seulgi slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes were still sparkly every time they landed on him, and he knew why because he knows everything about her. "I don't understand," he said as he started playing with her hair. "I don't understand myself, I'm sorry." She took his hand and carefully placed it on the table. "I wish I could explain my own feelings to you but I really don't understand," She looked at him as if to confirm that he had nothing to say and then she continued. He somehow knew that she was more talking to herself than to him. "Sometimes, I get nostalgic and like to think of the time when it was only us two," she diverted her gaze from him and started looking down at the table again. "But then I get sad, really sad, because it's over." He thought about taking her in his arms at this moment but he figured it would only disturb her in her thoughts. It could wait. "So I think that I shouldn't think of the past, at least not often because I don't like being sad." She must be really drunk, he thought. Jongin was going to caress her cheek but she distanced herself right before he could reach her. "You know, back then when we were still together—" "We are still together," he corrected with a frown. "Not this together, but the other together." When she realized he wasn't getting anything of what she said, her eyes suddenly lost their excitment. Seulgi never liked to explain things because she knew that even if it made sense in her mind, her mouth would ruin everything. "The type of together you and Soojung had Jongin." He became silent. "What about it?" he almost whispered. "I miss it," she let out in a weak sigh. "I miss you." "I'm right here," he said as he took her hand. Seulgi looked at their tightly entangled hands and smiled to herself. "I must be really drunk to talk about this with you." "I know," he said as he got closer. "Or currently dreaming." "You're not sleeping," Jongin murmured in her ear as he wrapped his arms around her tiny waist. "But I am sleepy," she said. Seulgi let her head fall lazily on his chest and returned his hug by closing entirely the gape between their two bodies. "I know." She was now sleeping in his arms, the safest place she knew in the whole world as Jongin kissed the top of her head and stayed in this position for as long as he could. "Your best friend should know this much." Because he also knew that she wouldn't remember anything from that night the next day.
