Pairing: Seulhun[Seulgi and Sehun]
Concept: Cheating!Au Inspiration: The Weekend | SZA [Completed] It wasn't written anywhere and most people answered differently whenever she asked so Seulgi wasn't exactly sure when the weekend was supposed to start. It was just like how some people said that the week started on Monday and others believed it was Sunday, it was a matter of opinions. For Seulgi, the weekend started on Friday night and ended on Monday morning, not before that and definitely not after that. That's why she was surprised to see another pair of shoes in front of her apartment's door when she came back home Friday at noon. She recognized those shoes and she knew very well who they belonged to but she couldn't believe it even if the evidence was right in front of her. She closed the door behind her and put down her grocery bags on the floor as soon as he called her. "Why are you here so early?" she asked as Sehun walked to her with a goofy grin. "I thought you were coming tonight." Instead of answering, Sehun planted a kiss on her forehead and helped her carry the heavy bags to the kitchen. "I thought you wouldn't mind," he said as he watched her filling up the fridge. Sehun leaned on the counter and gave her a soft smile. "Of course I don't, don't be ridiculous," Seulgi chuckled as she picked two cans of iced tea. "But is there a reason for this sudden visit? I thought Oh Sehun was a man of habits," she teased while passing by him to get to the fridge. "The week was long," he sighed before walking to her. He then took the beverages she was holding and put them in the fridge for her. "I missed you." Sehun leaned in for a kiss and then another one. Seulgi smiled against his lips before returning the kiss as Sehun embraced her by the waist. "That's why you came so early?" Seulgi giggled. "It's never too early." "I'll have to agree on that." Sehun had to be the best boyfriend ever, there was nothing she could reproach to him. He always had that adoring gaze when he looked at her and it made Seulgi weak in the knees. She couldn't exactly remember when her feelings for him became so strong but she knew they had always been there. Seulgi had always loved Sehun from the moment she met him and she believed it was the same for him. The greatest thing in all this is that she felt loved back, she was sure Sehun loved her. That was certain. And yet… "What's wrong?" Sehun frowned after noticing Seulgi zoning out for a few seconds. "Nothing, absolutely nothing is wrong," she reassured him with a smile. "It's just that I've been thinking a lot lately and I somehow can't stop. I guess I'm tired." "Are you sick?" he asked with concern. "No, don't worry," she chuckled after seeing her boyfriend's worried expression. "I'm just overthinking on my own." Sehun nodded but she was sure that he was still very much worried. It never took a lot for him to feel concerned. Sehun could get worried at the slightest problem she had. Seulgi figured it was because he couldn't see her during the week that he was so protective whenever they met. "Are you hungry? I was going to cook lunch," Seulgi distractedly asked as she looked for her apron. "Sehun have you seen my apron? I took it out just earlier—" "You mean this?" Sehun asked. Seulgi burst out laughing after turning to see her 6 foot tall boyfriend wrapped in her pink and fluffy bear apron. "It obviously doesn't suit you," she chuckled. "I think it looks great on me," he retorted. "Mind you, it's a perfect fit." "Stop fooling around, I need it to cook," Seulgi lightly hit his arm. "I'll do it, you don't even feel great," Sehun said as he dragged her to the couch. "You sit here and you rest, okay?" "Are you sure? I don't mind," Seulgi said. "How about I cook today and you're in charge tomorrow?" "Deal!" Seulgi chuckled as she watched Sehun walk back to the kitchen. Her smile faded as soon as he disappeard from her sight. "How do I do it this time?" 1 year, 2 months and 17 days. That made 62 weeks. Seulgi and Sehun had been dating for 62 weekends. She could perfectly remember how they met, each detail, every movement, every smile. Nothing could escape her memory. "Just go talk to him, what do you have to lose?" Sooyoung insisted. "I can't just go like that!" Seulgi retorted. "What am I even gonna say? Hello we don't really know each other and I know I sound creepy but you're totally my type," Seulgi said sarcastically. "Yes!" Sooyoung exclaimed. "He'll probably laugh or think you're cute, trust me. He has been looking your way since you came, I doubt he will ask you to get lost." Seulgi bit her lips and anxiously turned around again to look at the handsome guy who had caught her attention as soon as she entered the restaurant. He was sitting at the bar with a friend but his friend left to go to the bathroom and he was finally alone. Once again, he was looking back at her. Seulgi blushed and turned towards Sooyoung. "Should I do it? You really think I have a chance?" "You can try or you can die trying," Sooyoung affirmed. Seulgi quickly fixed her hair and checked her make up before hesitantly getting up. "With confidence!" Sooyoung pestered her. "Do you want to die trying?" Seulgi took a deep breath and started walking to the tall guy sitting alone by the bar. She stopped in her tracks a few times since it was the first time she was doing this and it looked risky but he was just so ethereal. She had to try. It didn't take much for Seulgi to get swiped off her feet, as soon as Sehun turned to her, she knew she would give this man all her heart, time and energy. "Yes?" he asked her with a soft smile, he seemed amused by this. Maybe he didn't think she would really come even if he spent the whole night looking at her. "Hi, my name is Seulgi and you're totally my type," she confessed. Seulgi figured if she said it in one go, she wouldn't be able to chicken out at the first opportunity. She blushed even harder when he chuckled. "I'm Sehun." That's how it started and now she was about to end it. Seulgi walked to the kitchen where she saw Sehun busy chopping vegetables. He smiled as soon as he saw her resting her head on the door frame. She took slow and heavy steps towards him and started breathing peacefully only after lacing her arms around him. Seulgi's embrace became tighter as she inhaled his familiar and warm cologne. "I love you," she breathed. "I love you too," Sehun said before bringing her hand to his lips. "That is the only thing I am sure of." "You're mine," she declared. "I am yours." "You're mine Sehun," Seulgi painfully repeated. But not entirely mine. Sehun was hers but not completely hers, she had to share her love for him. Hyejoo, that's how she was called if Seulgi remembered correctly. She had seen her once by mistake after entering the wrong café. She was supposed to meet Sehun but instead she stumbled on his girlfriend. It took Seulgi 4 months, more exactly 16 weekends to discover that Sehun had been dating someone else since the beginning. By then, she was head over heels for him and it hurt a lot but she knew what she had to do. She was more courageous back then, she bitterly realized. Seulgi wasted no time and told him they were breaking up as soon as he stepped into her apartment on Friday night. They fought, they kissed, she cried and he cried too because he didn't want to end it. "I can't just break up with her, we have been together for years and she won't be able to get over it if I dump her," Sehun explained as he held her tight. "I swear I love you and I meant every single thing I told you Seulgi, it's just that I can't do that to her." And yet he could do it to her. Seulgi had resented him a lot the first few hours, going all the way to block his number and telling him to never come back but Sehun still did. He showed up at her door every Friday night, every Saturday and Sunday morning and would leave only when she would go to bed after turning off the lights. It lasted a month. And then Seulgi took him back because she missed him and she loved him too much. It was then she decided that it was okay to be second. It was bad enough that she fell in love with someone who was already taken but Seulgi also had to only see him when his girlfriend was out of town. Seulgi was the hidden girl, the one he couldn't present to his parents, the girl his friends had never heard of, the girl he couldn't openly love. Sehun was the guy she couldn't bring to family dinners, the lover she couldn't spend Christmas with, the invisible man she couldn't show on Instagram, the boyfriend her friends had never heard of. They all thought she was still single and constantly proposed blind dates to her. "I'm not interested in finding someone new," Seulgi always said. It wasn't a complete lie but she was still lying. Seulgi tried to break up with Sehun again after they celebrated their six months together. It became unbearable to know she had to share him with someone else. To think someone else kissed him good night, someone else woke up next to him in the morning, someone else saw his endearing smile. Someone else who had him for the rest of the week. She couldn't live like that and she intended to let him know. But Sehun always convinced her that his love for her was real, that what they were going through only proved how strong their love was and asked her to say that she didn't love him anymore if she wanted to end it so bad. Sehun always won one way or another because it was the only lie Seulgi couldn't tell for the sake of her life. She loved him. It was the 62th weekend and Seulgi was going to end it, one way or another, without lying. For once she was going to say the truth. The weekend passed quickly as it always did and the moment to part ways with Sehun was just as hard as the other ones. She kissed him, told him she loved him and wished him a good week with the fake smile she always had when she saw him pass the door. She believed he knew that it wasn't a genuine smile but it was one of the many taboos their relationship implied. Just how they never talked about Hyejoo or what he did during the week, Sehun never asked why her smile looked so sad on Monday. She just didn't want to worry him but Sehun worried at anything anyways. Before starting dating Sehun, Seulgi didn't understand why #MotivationMonday was a thing and why people used to say "Monday blues", for her it was just a day like the other ones. It was the beginning of the week and the day people went back to work or school but for an optimistic and bright person like her, Monday was just like Wednesday or Friday. Now it was the worst day. Seulgi took a long and hot shower, dressed up in proper clothes that didn't look too over the top, slowly ate her food alone in the kitchen and put on her shoes as she got out of her apartment. It was 9:12 in the morning which meant Sehun left three hours ago and that Seulgi had about 48 minutes to get to her destination. She quickly went to the elevator and clicked on the first button to get to the lobby, she had to catch the bus that would bring her to the end. If I can't be greedy then I'll be selfish for once. When she arrived at the café, it was almost full and Seulgi wondered where all those people came from as it was Monday morning. Nevertheless, she sat down where the waitress instructed her to and patiently waited for Hyejoo's arrival. Seulgi didn't remember exactly what she looked like from having seen her for a very short time almost a year ago but she knew she was small, very small. She was also pretty like a doll and had long dark hair. Seulgi anxiously ordered her second latte as she continued to wait. She had barely taken a sip of her hot drink when Sehun's girlfriend entered the café. She was even prettier than what she remembered. "Hi," Seulgi nervously said. "You must be the one who called," Hyejoo smiled. "I am sorry for being so late, I was out of town and just came back." I know. Seulgi also knew that Hyejoo was Sehun's childhood friend and that they started dating 6 years ago. Many people expected them to get married soon and were basically waiting for Sehun to propose to her. And yet, there she was, in front of Seulgi, Sehun's side chick. "May I know what was the sudden call about?" Hyejoo politely asked. "I fear to not remember you, have we met before?" "Yes, once," Seulgi revealed. Her voice was shaky and her eyes were filled with uncertainty and probably regrets. "Almost a year ago, in this exact same café." "And did we talk?" "I didn't have the courage to." "Why?" "Because I am ashamed of myself," Seulgi revealed as she looked down. "I feel guilty and I am sorry for having let things go this far." "Excuse me but who are you again?" Hyejoo slightly frowned. "Seulgi, my name is Kang Seulgi." "Seulgi? I think I indeed have heard this name before," she smiled. "Are you perhaps one of Sehun's friends?" "More," Seulgi weakly mumbled. "More than that. I love him." Hyejoo's face fell and she became serious all of a sudden. "You do know that he is taken, right?" she sternly reminded Seulgi. "Yes, that's the worst part in all this." "Excuse me?" Hyejoo blinked. She must have heard it wrong. "Listen, I don't know who you are or what you want from Sehun but he is currently in a relationship and he is happy with—" "With me," Seulgi said as she felt the tears form in her eyes. "I believe Sehun was happy with me." "Pardon?" "We have been dating for over a year," she painfully revealed. "That is not possible, weare dating. I am Sehun's girlfriend and he loves me," Hyejoo fumed. "He loves me too, that is the problem." Hyejoo scoffed and ruffled her hair out of frustration. Her cheeks became red and her eyes warned Seulgi about the outburst that was coming for her. "Are you nuts? Who the hell are you?" Hyejoo exploded. "Do you really think Sehun loves you?" she sarcastically laughed. "You're probably a little toy he got himself while I was away. Love? Don't make me laugh. I'll admit we have been fighting a lot lately but Sehun would never do this to me." "I am not making this up," Seulgi defended. "You must be," Hyejoo spat. "Do you know how long we have been together? Six years. Six long years, what makes you think you have a chance?" "He came every weekend. He never missed one, even if it rained, even if there was a storm, even if I told him to stay. From Friday night to Monday morning Sehun was with me." "Get lost while I'm being nice," Hyejoo warned. "I even bid him goodbye a few hours ago," Seulgi continued nevertheless. "He told me he loved me and I kissed him." Hyejoo got up and picked the first glass of water she could find and threw it at Seulgi's face. "You crazy bitch." With that, Hyejoo stormed out of the café while everyone looked pitifully at Seulgi. Finally, she could let the tears fall. Her hands were shaking and her breath was erratic, she had never been through such an argument. Seulgi had never even fought with anyone before but she would have done it for Sehun. She would have fought for him if she knew she wasn't in the wrong. But she was. Accepting to love a man who belonged to someone else was accepting doing something wrong. Seulgi reached for her cellphone and dialed the number she always expected to see appear on her cellphone on Friday. She took a deep breath before talking into the phone. "Yes what is it my love?" she heard him chuckle. "That's unexpected of you to call right after we met, is there anything wrong?" Sehun asked her. Seulgi contained a sob and wiped a tear that rolled down her cheek. "Sehun," she called softly. "Yes?" he answered as soon. "Are you crying Seulgi? What's wrong?" "Sehun, you know I love you, don't you?" "Yes I do but why are you crying? Did something happen?" he asked. "I really reallylove you Sehun," she sobbed. "I need to hear you say it too." One last time. Just to confirm that I'm not crazy, that I'm not just some side chick to toy with. "I love you Seulgi," Sehun breathed. "You're scaring me, what's wrong?" "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," she broke in tears. Seulgi couldn't stop the tears from falling anymore. "I—I think you will seriously hate me after what I just did." "How could I hate you, what are you saying?" "You don't understand," she painfully said. Seulgi wiped her tears and left the money for her coffee on the table before going outside. It was raining heavily and she didn't have an umbrella but it didn't matter. The rain hid her tears. "If you hate me then I don't want to know. I don't think I would be able to get over it." "What do you mean?" "I just called to tell you it was over. We'reover Sehun." "Don't do this Seulgi, not again." "I'm serious this time," Seulgi sniffled. "Confidently!"she remembered Sooyoung's words. "I am breaking up with you," Seulgi said after steadying her breathing. "Don't come next weekend, I won't open the door. Don't call me and don't text me neither. I will block your number if I have to." "You're not serious, Seulgi. Don't do this, you know how much I love—" She abruptly ended the call and decided to walk all the way home. She didn't feel like taking the bus this time, Seulgi needed time to think. She had to plan what she would do next weekend since her Friday night, her Saturday and her Sunday were now free. Seulgi was about to decline Sehun's fourteenth call when she reached her apartment building. She choked back another tear as she imagined the shoes that welcomed her home a few days ago as soon as she stepped into her apartment. She wouldn't see them again. Seulgi sat on the floor and cried like a baby for the first time in a while. She could almost hear Sehun's laugh and feel his kiss against her lips again. As usual, Monday was the loneliest day of the week.
